Q. How do I know if I need extermination?
A. The answer to this question is pretty simple. If you see just ants or just one mouse, those few ants or one mouse have a whole bunch of buddies lurking where you can’t see them. If you have even a slightly visible problem then you have a problem. Left untreated, you could have a crisis.

Q. What about pets and children?
A. Children need to leave during the treatment and may return 2 to 3 hours after completion. We ask that during treatments, you either put your pets in a room that is not being treated or remove them from the structure until the materials we have used are dry. Fish tanks need to be covered.

Q. Does MODERN offer any guarantee on their service?
A. Yes. MODERN has the best service and the best guarantee in the business. We will work hard to earn your business. And re-treatment necessary between services is at no charge to the customer. MODERN offers a three-year price guarantee, whereby, MODERN will not raise the price of the customers service.

Q. Do I have to sign up for an entire year?
A. Yes. At MODERN, our main goal to is to satisfy you as a customer. We have found that the best way to provide you with the quality of service you expect is to service your home year round on our quarterly program. We will invest a significant amount of effort to satisfy you as a customer to keep your home free from pests. In return, we simply ask that you stay with us for at least 12 months. Of course, we are sure you will be satisfied with the quality of service we provide and will want to stay with us for many years.

Q. Do you have to come out on a regular basis?
A. Yes. Insects are tenacious, and in order to control these annoying pests and keep them out of your home, regular service is necessary. MODERN offers a Basic Service program, a Modern-Plus Service program, or Modern Signature Service program. When you start your new service your initial service will be followed up approximately one month later with your first regular service on your first year accounts. These first two (2) back-to-back services are necessary to break the pest development cycle. Insect eggs can be resistant to pesticides even though we service your home this month most of the eggs that pests have already laid will hatch within the next 30 to 60 days. After your follow-up service we will come back per your regular service frequency. Your new service provides you with year round protection from pests as well as those migrating over from your neighbors property. Additionally, a regular service is also necessary due to the relatively short residual of the products available. MODERN uses only those products that have been registered with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Texas regulatory agencies. The residual, or length of time, most products are effective against pests is approximately 30 to 90 days. So we will return on a scheduled basis to renew the barrier around your home to protect your family from annoying, disease-carrying pests. You do not need to schedule or be home for the regular service; we will come out automatically and leave an invoice on the door.

Q. If I sign up with MODERN, does this mean I’ll never see another bug in my house again?
A. No. MODERN provides the best pest control service available and our goal is for you to have a pest-free environment. However, pests can enter your home in grocery bags, on pets, or through the air. In addition, pests can be an area-specific problem. So even though we are treating your home, pests from the surrounding area can walk, crawl, or fly onto your property and attempt to enter your home, in fact, when we teat your home insects will be flushed out of their hiding places, so you may actually see more pests than usual immediately following the treatment of your home. We ask that you allow at least 7-10 days for the treatment to take effect. If after 7 to 10 days you are still seeing an inordinate number of pests, please give us a call and we will schedule a Service Technician to come and re-evaluate the problem free of charge.

Q. Will MODERN service the inside of my home on every visit?
A. No. Although we do recommend that you have the inside serviced during the initial service, we will automatically service just the outside of your home on our regular visit. You should have no problems on the inside of your home if the outside is being serviced regularly. However, should you ever need the interior serviced just give us a call, and we’ll be happy to schedule the inside treatment to be performed at the time of your regular service visit. If possible the technician will enter the home to inspect the insect monitoring devices that have been placed throughout your home and provide treatment based upon the diagnosis of the problem.
